LPA Ballot Access 2008
The state of Alabama has some of the most restrictive ballot access laws in the country, making it very hard for the Libertarian Party to place candidates on the ballot. The real function of these ballot access laws is to limit competition. We are fighting these restrictions in the courts and through legislation.Unlike the two dominant political parties, we have to collect thousands of signatures on a petition requesting that the Libertarian Party appear on the ballot. Your help is needed.
Please print out this
make copies and collect as many signatures as you can from friends, family, etc. You can mail the petitions to the LPA address at the bottom of this page or the home page, or hand them in to one of our officers or a local party contact in your area.
Those signing the petition must be registered voters in the state of Alabama, and the information filled in on the petition form should match the voter registration record. However, note that those signing the petition do not have to consider themselves Libertarians, plan to vote for a Libertarian candidate, or anything along those lines. They are simply requesting that we have the opportunity to place our candidates on the ballot.
We Need Your Help
We also need donations to help pay for our petitioners on the ground. Contributions coming through this web page will be applied to the LPA's Federal Account and used for presidential ballot access. Please consider making a generous contribution today to help place the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate on the ballot.
Thank you!
